all wild cats lead solitary lives, except lions, which are the only social cats. the mother raises her kittens/cubs single-handedly, while the males play little or no role in bringing them up. but as the pressure from poaching, habitat loss etc increases, there might well be an evolutionary change in this aspect of the cats' lifestyle!
